Terrace Recruitment

CDDT has secured an investment from the South Yorkshire Key Fund to open a recruitment agency operating as a social enterprise. ‘Terrace Recruitment’ will place job seekers referred by Job Centre plus (and other agencies working with the unemployed and low paid) on a permanent or temporary basis with local employers in Doncaster and the Dearne Valley. Employers will be charged a fee based upon annual starting salary.

Our research identified three key market segments for ‘Terrace Recruitment’:

Industrial - assembly workers, line pickers, warehousing staff etc;

Commercial – administration/clerical, data input, call centres, retail etc;

Social care – home care and health care workers.

The focus of Terrace Recruitment initially will be industrial and commercial as the research identified that demand is strongest in these areas. We are also developing a training programme for social care workers and establishing an agency for these workers to provide home care support. As this social enterprise develops it will link to ‘Terrace Recruitment’.

To launch ‘Terrace Recruitment’, we will recruit a full time Consultant in Year One. The Consultant will be responsible for working with job seekers, developing relationships with employers and arranging placements. We intend to recruit a further Consultant in Year Two to develop and sustain the enterprise.
